Solar panel inspection with a thermal drone
For solar panels on home rooftops in the Rotterdam area. Using thermal images from the air, we look for problems you cannot see from the ground. An AI model flags anomalies automatically and you receive a clear, plain fault report.
Who is this service for?
We deliberately focus on smaller installations, where a full inspection is often too expensive or too complex.
Home roof
Homeowners with solar panels on their own roof who want to know whether everything works well.
Small business
Shops, workshops and offices with panels on a flat or pitched business roof.
Small solar park
Small ground-mounted arrays or panels on a barn or shed, modest in size.
Large commercial solar parks and municipal projects are not the target of this service.
How it works, in 36 seconds
Text version of the video
- A drone with a thermal camera flies over a home roof with solar panels.
- The drone scans the panels row by row; the thermal image appears behind it.
- A few panels are clearly warmer than the rest: possible hotspots.
- The AI model draws a box around each anomaly, with a label and the temperature difference.
- A plain report is generated with a heat map and a list of findings.
What we look for
- Hotspots: panels or cells running hotter than the rest
- Possible (micro)cracks and damaged cells
- Loose or shifted panels
- Efficiency loss from dirt, shading or faulty strings
How it works
- A drone with a thermal camera flies over your roof, in suitable weather and enough sunlight.
- An AI model analyses the images and flags notable temperature differences.
- We check the flags and write a plain report with images and an explanation in everyday language.

As the one-off inspection, plus a clear heat map of all panels.
In pilot, price to follow
-
Annual monitoring
Measure and compare every year, so you spot changes in time.
In pilot, price to follow
Indicative price: €100 – €150
For a one-off inspection: thermal image + AI analysis + plain report, home rooftop. Indicative, final price after the pilot phase.
For context: in the market a visual-only inspection often costs around €125 – €175, and a fully certified inspection usually €300 – €500.

Pick a preferred day and time window, or tell us you have no preference. This is a request, not a confirmed booking: we always confirm by email. During the pilot we only schedule once weather, permits, insurance and equipment are in place.
Good to know
- The AI report is an indication. It is not a certified SCIOS inspection and is not valid for insurance or warranty claims.
- It is not an electrical safety inspection. Concerned about the safety of your installation? Contact a qualified installer.
- We do not go onto your roof; the inspection is done from the air only.
